birth

Birth photography is the most profound work I do. There is nothing like being present in the room as a new life enters the world. These images are not glamourous. They are honest, and they are extraordinary. A testament to the strength of a mother, and the irreplaceable first seconds of a life just begun.

everything you
need, considered.

I arrive in early labour and stay until after baby's first feed. You won't notice I'm there - my job is to document, not direct. What you'll receive is a complete story of one of the most significant days of your life.

frequently asked

When should I book my birth photographer?

Ideally by your second trimester. Birth photography books up fast since I can only commit to one due date at a time within a close window.

How does on-call coverage work?

Once you go into labour, you call or message me and I make my way to you. I stay on call from around week 38 until you've delivered.

Will you be in the way during labour?

Not at all. I stay quiet and unobtrusive, capturing the real moments as they unfold without ever directing or interrupting.

What if my birth doesn't go to plan?

Whatever path your birth takes, I'm there to document it with care, whether that's a home birth, hospital birth or caesarean.

How soon will I see my photos?

You'll have a small selection of edited images within a few days, with your full gallery ready within 1 to 2 weeks.

Is birth photography confronting?

Most families find their birth photos to be some of the most powerful they'll ever own. I photograph with discretion and always discuss your comfort level beforehand.
